Lily is presently preparing for the release of her second album 'It's
Not Me, It's You' in February, but friends say she's also been asking
her father, actor Keith Allen, about pursuing a new career path.
A source close to Lily, 23, said: "She thinks it might get her out of
the spotlight, which is what she has found hard to cope with, even
though film or TV roles will hardly be low-profile. She says the next
six months will be the most important of her life. She is getting some
control back."
In the past year, Lily suffered a miscarriage before splitting with her boyfriend, Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons.
Friends say Lily longs for stability in her life and is ready to move on from her painful past.
The source said: "Lily's done a lot of growing up in the past few
months. She says fame has stunted her as a human being and she's
determined to sort herself out."
Lily's brother, Alfie Allen, 22, is also an actor.
He appeared in 'Atonement' and took over from 'Harry Potter' actor Daniel Radcliffe in a touring theatre production of 'Equus'.

It seems we aren’t the only ones slightly shocked and vaguely angered by Laura White’s surprise exit from the X Factor last night. Lily Allen was watching the reality competition yesterday, and felt equally as dismayed as us by the evening’s events. So, at the end of the X Factor she took to her MySpace blog to voice her concerns. Here’s what she said:
“Right, I think we were all a little shocked right? Laura didn't deserve to go in my opinion, neither did Ruth (my personal favourite). I've been left feeling quite upset by the whole of tonight’s show. I cannot believe that week after week, Daniel the pool man is still in, people are quite mad, I'm sure.
Now, I don't know what people think on here, and I understand that she was ill, but out of respect to Laura, I think Diana Vickers should have to sing a Mariah Carey song next week, i'm sure she's capable of rising to the challenge, I just don't think it's fair otherwise. Everyone needs to be judged in the same way or the whole thing becomes meaningless.”
We caught up with Laura last night as she left the studio after getting booted off the X Factor, and surprisingly – she looked kind of happy. At least someone is. What do you think about Lily’s musings on yesterday’s show – should Diana sing a Mariah song next week?

Lily Allen tears over Brand/Ross Scandal
Pop star Lily Allen was left in tears after hearing about the recent phone prank scandal involving British comic Russel Brand. Brand quit his job as a BBC radio presenter earlier this week (beg27Oct08) following outrage over a stunt in which he and fellow broadcaster Jonathan Ross recorded voicemail messages for Fawlty Towers star Andrew Sachs. In the calls, the pair made lewd comments about Brand's fling with 78-year-old Sachs' granddaughter. And the Smile hitmaker insists she was devastated by the saga that eventually cost Brand his job and saw Ross suspended for 12 weeks without pay. She tells British publication The London Paper, "I cried all yesterday. I didn't think it was too offensive. It wasn't the funniest thing in the world but it wasn't that bad." Allen also admits to having made similar prank calls herself. She adds, "I make these p**s-taking calls all the time. I once called up (British singer) Kate Nash's PR and said I was from a mouthwash company. I said we wanted Kate to front the brand. They told me they'd put it to Kate and get back to me."
